The Nissan Ariya launch experience was a streamed Unreal Engine application, designed to showcase the vehicle’s versatility across different driving environments—from city streets to rugged off-road terrain. This highly interactive experience allowed users to explore the vehicle in motion, engage with key features, and even place it in their own space via AR.
About The Project
For the U.S. launch of the Nissan Ariya, the creative concept revolved around demonstrating the vehicle’s adaptability for both urban and off-road lifestyles. The experience blended high-quality CGI sequences with an interactive real-time application, streamed directly to users’ devices.
At the heart of the experience was a cinematic introduction video, where the Ariya seamlessly transitioned between city and off-road driving through a unique sweeping transition effect. This set the stage for users to explore the vehicle dynamically—interacting with key features, customizing its appearance, and even bringing it into their real-world environment with AR mode.

The experience allowed users to change the vehicle’s paint color in real time and interact with animated feature highlights, including aerodynamics, safety sensors, and dual motors.
Augmented Reality (AR) Mode
With AR mode, users could place the Ariya in their physical space, walk around it, and explore its details in full scale.

The real-time driving effect was achieved using a stationary vehicle with animated video textures on the ground. While effective in conveying movement, it presented challenges in visual quality, highlighting valuable learnings for future iterations.
This project successfully combined cinematic storytelling with interactive engagement, demonstrating how streamed Unreal Engine applications can deliver high-quality automotive showcases without requiring a user download.
