Le Mans Multiplayer Immersive Experience

Le Mans Multiplayer Immersive Experience

The Le Mans Virtual Experience was a PixelStreamed Unreal Engine application, combining multiplayer exploration, interactive storytelling, and advanced character animation. Designed as a real-time streamed application, users could explore the iconic
Le Mans race track as animated avatars, interact with historical touchpoints, and engage with Toyota’s racing legacy.

This project pushed the boundaries of real-time character animation, skeletal rigging, and multiplayer streaming, creating an engaging and interactive experience for motorsport enthusiasts.

About The Project

The Le Mans Virtual Experience allowed users to join a live, cloud-streamed multiplayer environment, navigate the legendary track, and interact with key moments from Le Mans history. As a PixelStreamed Unreal Engine experience, the application delivered high-quality visuals with no downloads required.

A key focus of this project was the development of a real-time character system, incorporating:

  • Motion capture R&D, testing LiveLink ARKit facial tracking and full-body motion capture workflows.
  • Skeletal remapping & retargeting, ensuring real-time animation blending across different character rigs.
  • Custom animation sequences, integrating pre-baked Mixamo run/walk cycles while refining procedural motion for seamless interaction.
  • Multiplayer animation synchronization, allowing users to perform emotes, gestures, and vehicle interactions with smooth transitions.

The result was a highly interactive, multiplayer-driven experience that blended historical storytelling with real-time character immersion.
