CBA Innovation Lab
A first-of-its-kind innovation space built for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), designed to demonstrate cutting-edge banking technology, big data insights, and financial innovations. The space featured a range of interactive installations, including beacon-guided tours, gesture-based interfaces, VR experiences, and real-time data visualizations.
About The Project
In 2014, we helped create CBA’s first dedicated innovation space, showcasing the bank’s latest advancements in technology, security, and financial solutions. The CBA Innovation Lab was a highly interactive environment, combining touchscreens, motion-based controls, projection systems, and VR to engage visitors in dynamic, immersive experiences.
Over time, the Innovation Lab was expanded and adapted for various exhibitions and activations, including CeBIT 2014 and the CBA Business Bar Solutions, where interactive touch tables and mobile applications allowed customers and business partners to explore CBA’s evolving product ecosystem.
This project involved developing multiple digital experiences, including:
- A Business Bar multitouch experience, enabling users to interact with case studies and financial innovations through a large-scale interactive table.
- A tablet-driven guided tour that used beacon technology to track and assist visitors.
- Gesture-controlled experiences allowing users to explore financial products with Leap Motion technology.
- A data visualization tool that provided insights into CBA’s transactional data, helping businesses understand market trends.
- A VR simulation that took users through a “Day in the Life” of a CBA customer, highlighting key banking products in different scenarios.
